Sweet & Spicy Jackfruit Chicken Stir Fry

This deliciously sweet and spicy dish is a tasty mix of indonesian, korean and other ingredients that will make your mouth happy. Serve with your favorite rice, a side of spicy kimchi and a glass of sake for a complete meal!


  • 12 oz chicken
  • 1 can jackfruit
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 yellow bell pepper
  • 2 green onion bunches
  • 1 serrano pepper
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Marinade Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp korean red pepper powder
  • 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp golden cooking wine
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • Pinch of ginger powder
  • Pinch of onion powder
  • Pinch of black pepper


Mix marinade ingredients together in a small bowl and set aside.

Cut chicken into bite size pieces and place into a medium sized bowl. Pour marinade over chicken, mix well, cover and let sit in fridge for at least 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, cut red and yellow peppers into strips and add to a bowl. Then, chop 1 bunch of green onions and add to same bowl.

Next cut jack fruit down into bite size pieces and place in separate bowl

Chop remaining bunch of onions along with the Serrano pepper and place in separate bowl.

Add 1 tbsp of sesame oil (or peanut oil) to a heated wok.

Add marinaded chicken, 1 tbsp of gochujang to wok, mix well and stir fry until chicken in almost done.

Add in peppers and green onions and jack fruit and stir fry for about 1 minutes.

Add in half of remaining green onions and all Serrano peppers and stir fry 1 more minute.

Serve on plate with brown rice, garnish chicken with remaining green onions and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds.

Eat and enjoy with sake!
