Each year during the Jewish festival of Sukkot, my family takes a moment to celebrate and remember God’s goodness in our lives over the past year.

This time, we remembered his faithfulness to protect one of my daughters after an unexpected accident during Sukkot.

What do you believe about God’s character?

6 years ago I was going through one of the deepest valleys of my life, questioning my beliefs and on a path towards deconstruction. 

I doubted that God was good.

In His infinite wisdom, God knew the subtle allure of the culture. To draw you away from the Almighty, through doubts and desensitization to what He declares is evil. Similarly, the story of Balaam tricking Israel is a lesson we all should take to heart.

One of my favorite parts of the service at a Messianic synagogue is the Torah procession where everyone prays a blessing over an actual Torah scroll, then joyfully celebrates as it's carried around the room. What if we had this same joy over God’s words?
